Saturday 13th April – WRI Hall, Comrie
Many thanks to Chris Grace for organising this event when Comrie will be welcoming the Charlie McKerron Trio with special guest Tim Edey, for a very special concert.
Charlie is one of Scotland’s finest fiddle players and composers and is a long time member of the Scottish ‘supergroups’ Capercaillie and Session A9. He will be bringing with him on pipes and whistles the hugely talented Perthshire lad Ross Ainslie of Treacherous Orchestra and Salsa Celtica fame, and Marc Clement guitar virtuoso and singer from Session A9 and Blazing Fiddles amongst others. Joining them will be recent Perthshire resident Tim Edey who has to be heard to be believed on guitar and melodeon. He’s fresh from winning BBC radio 2 folk awards musician of the year, and plays with too many big names to mention.
They are all unbelievably talented and very busy musicians, and to have them in the intimate setting of the WRI Hall is an absolute coup. There are only 80 tickets available so make sure you don’t miss out.
They will be supported by the lovely jazzy folky guitar/flute combo ‘Half Way to Barra’, who are local Crieff boy(!) Kenny Graham and Edinburgh based flautist Linda Gannell.
That’s an awful lot of talent for a wee village event.
Tickets are £12 from the Post Office and Hansen’s Deli in the village. You can also get them by contacting Chris Grace who will organise to send them out in exchange for a cheque for the appropriate amount.
GET YOUR TICKETS SOON – THEY WON’T LAST LONG
