We took this photo of the Comma butterfly this morning in our garden in Comrie. We didn’t recognise it when we saw it here for the first time last week, but found it in a butterfly book from the 1980s.

The book said that within the UK it was only found in the southern half of England. Probably, like several other species, great though it is to see them in the village, the Comma is only here as a result of climate change.
