Our trust was registered at Companies House in July 2006, and was granted charitable status by the Office for Scottish Charity Regulator on 24th August 2007.

History of the Trust

In March 2005, 40 people attended an inspirational presentation in the local WRI hall from the Westray Development Trust. At the end of the meeting, everyone agreed that we should explore a similar approach for Comrie. The Comrie Development Group was formed and held a community meeting in October 2005 to discuss the idea. 200 people attended that meeting, set priorities for action and agreed to establish a Development Trust. The Trust was launched at the village festival 'Comrie Alive' attended by over a quarter of the village in July 2006. Membership has since grown to over 700 members making us one of the best represented Development Trusts in the UK.
