Comrie in Colour 2013Many congratulations to Comrie in Colour – Congratulation on another fantastic win and acknowledgement for all your hard work!  Comrie is so proud of your achievements !
Here is a wee report from Muriel Gregory of Comrie in Colour:
Last week was the awards ceremony at the Beach Ballroom Aberdeen and we were there to receive our awards. This year we came away with GOLD in the Large Village Category and were even more surprised to pick up the category for Community Involvement Award.
So to everybody who helped ,’Thank you ‘ for helping Comrie win these awards.
Wednesday 11th September sees us at the Take a Pride in Perthshire awards.
The Judges said the following …
‘The first thing to catch your eye in Comrie are the stunning hanging baskets filled with begonia which are saved and stored for the next season. Throughout the village there are containers and beds brimming over with colour. There is variety of planting in the many beds and containers. The four themed beds at Mid Square have a well-chosen range of shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetable. Cultybraggan, the group’s base, housed the polytunnel to grow the summer planting, vegetable and herbs assisted by young adults with additional needs. The allotments and fruit tree area are well maintained and productive. Comrie Primary School has a variety of growing areas and is a role model for other schools.’
Now we just have to wait till Wednesday for the Take a Pride in Perthshire Awards.
