Here’s a heads up about a great wee gig Chris Grace has organised for Comrie on Saturday 9th November. Chris is delighted to present the wonderful Jim Hunter – guitarist and singer extraordinaire, with his compadre, Graham Flett.
With a relatively new album under their belts, “Down In The Gin Shed”, Jim Hunter and Graham Flett will bring their unique blend of music to the WRI Hall.
Jim Hunter has over thirty years at the coalface as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. His beautifully crafted songs and slide guitar virtuosity have been heard on stage, film, TV and radio. Jim released his first album “Burnt Out In The Snow” in 1988 and, since then, has travelled the world touring with his own band and also guesting with Little Feat, The Waterboys, Runrig, Wolfstone, the Battlefield Band and the Rankin family, to name but a few. Living in a small village on the North West coast, he brings a potent mix of soulful vocals and slide infused guitar to the folk stage. He is also known for his appalling shirts.
Graham Flett is originally from Orkney and, as well as releasing his own solo album “Single Track Roads”, has been a long term member of The Raggaels. He has been working with Jim for the last 15 years and plays a myriad of instruments including keyboard, bass, guitar, sax as well as vocals.
Together they make a bluesfolktastic sound and are brilliant entertainers. It’s going to be a FUN evening.
