Please find below a progress update for the current flood mitigation works on the Water of Ruchill at Dalginross.
Ruchilside (River Bank Works) – Excellent progress has been made at this site with the main rock armour protection works and the topsoil reinstatement to the field completed. The site compound area has also been reinstated with imported topsoil and the temporary road from Tomnagaske removed to create the hard standing area next to the Cultybraggan farm silage area. The contractor has also removed the temporary haul road and dressed it with topsoil. These works were completed last week. An as built survey of the protection works will be completed this week.
Tomnagaske – The driveway kerbing remains at 80% complete. All the service works have now been completed, with the sewer, gas duct and new water pipe now installed. The new water pipe has also been connected. The Enkamat erosion protection matting has been laid to the south and north sides of the driveway and has been top soiled. The margin where the Enkamat ends and the field begins has been tidied up and smoothed over by the excavator bucket. The foundation track for the wall at the bottom of the Tomnagaske drive has been excavated, and the contractor has sourced some stone for this. The temporary road constructed up to the Tomnagaske property has now been removed and the material from here deposited to provide a hardstanding area at Cutlybraggan Farm. Tayside Contracts are having difficulty sourcing a surfacing team to lay the new driveway at Tomnagaske due to the pending Easter holidays, but are still working towards engaging a contractor for next week if at all possible. Given the recent bad weather and the additional works that were requested it is likely that the Tomnagaske works will go on till the end of the first week in April, however this may need to be extended if a surfacing contractor cannot be sourced. An as built survey will be carried out on completion of the works.
