Perth and Kinross Council Road Maintenance Partnership will be carrying out road works on the B827 Langside road over the next few months and as part of our community engagement process I am writing to Comrie Community Council to provide information on the scope of the works.
The section of the B827 Langside road that is affected by the works is the four kilometre section between Tigh-na-Blair Farm and Langside Cottage.
Our works programme is as follows:
22nd July 2019 to 23rd August 2019
Carry out carriageway edge strengthening works and drainage improvement works
Traffic controlled by temporary traffic lights and stop / go boards
20th November 2019 to 3rd December 2019
Carry out carriageway resurfacing works
A road closure and signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of this work
I have attached a pdf of the diversion route that will be in place during the resurfacing works in November / December 2019.Please follow this link: b827-diversion
In planning the date for the road closure period the PKC Road Maintenance Partnership designers have taken into account the busier tourist summer months and the July / August / October school holiday periods and we will avoid those times.
We cannot push the resurfacing works any further forward into the winter period or we will run a high risk of disruption to the works through adverse winter weather conditions.
I would like to thank the local communities in advance for their forbearance with us during these works and give you an assurance we will mitigate the impact of the works on them as much as is possible.
