ANNIE GRACE TRIO GIG

The fabulous Annie Grace Trio is returning to Perthshire with back-to-back gigs in early November at the invitation of the Comrie Development Trust and the newly formed Ardoch Development Trust. Having played to full houses on her previous visits to Comrie, locals can look forward to being entertained by three of the most talented musicians on the Celtic music scene.
Annie’s music is evocative, compelling and compulsive and combines blues and jazz tinged traditional songs with a huge repertoire of instrumental tunes. Well-known musicians Jonny Hardie and Aaron Jones, both from the Old Blind Dogs, join her on this tour. Annie is a dynamic multi instrumentalist and singer. Aaron plays the bass and bouzouki and Jonny plays fiddle and guitar.
The two Trusts have been sharing experience and working together over recent months and decided to jointly promote the music nights in Comrie and Braco. Cathy Tilbrook, Chair of the Comrie Development Trust said, “Our music events have all proved hugely successful and Annie never fails to deliver a fantastic night.” Noel Cummins Chair of the Ardoch Development Trust shares Cathy’s enthusiasm and explained, “This will be our first music event and we hope to attract lots of locals and new members!”

DANCE LEADER TRAINING

Liz Conacher is trying to identify any groups of young people in P&K interested in taking part in dance activity, with a view to applying for funding for a dance tutor to deliver dance workshops across Perth and Kinross, possibly leading to young people applying to take a Dance Leader Award. In order to apply for the funding evidence of demand s needed.

The Dance Leader Award is a 39 hour course which qualifies a young person (16 – 24 years) to lead dance workshops under the supervision of a qualified teacher or youth worker. Applicants do not have to be skilled or experienced in dance but must have an enthusiasm for physical activity & interest in becoming a leader within their own community.

If you know of any groups (or individuals) who would be interested in dance workshops and / or the dance leader award please let me know asap. (Boys or girls!)
