Worried about Flooding?
SEPA has launched a new Floodline direct warning service for Scotland. You can now sign up to receive free advance flood warning messages direct to your landline or mobile phone that will notify you when a flood warning message has been issued for your local area. Further details can be found at http://www.sepa.org.uk/flooding/sepas_floodline_service.aspx.
Due to the complex nature of flooding in Comrie, SEPA is currently unable to offer a formal warning scheme for the village. However, concerned residents could register for the down stream flood warning area, Carse of Lennoch to Lochlane. This would not only provide warning of conditions likely to affect roads in the area but also some advance warning of potential flooding issues in Comrie, if river levels were to continue rising. To register for this service, customers will need to call Floodline as their postcode will not automatically be associated with the area (0845 988 1188).
Flood Alerts for the Tayside area can be found at http://floodline.sepa.org.uk/floodupdates/info/group-id/4846
River levels in and around Comrie
SEPA has 4 river level stations in the Comrie area and this information has been made available to the public through the SEPA website. The information is downloaded from the stations to help SEPA fulfil its duties; normally this is twice a day but at times of potential flooding this will be more frequent. The website is then updated every hour and will show the latest available information.
Fishermen, canoeists and other river users can use the information to help with planning their river use.

BUMBLEBEE SQUARE
William Frame handed over the lease of the square to Community Council this evening at 6pm. (Wednesday 30th June 2010) An informal moment - a chance for a historic picture and a chat about the future!
