THE CULTURE SHOW : BOOKER PRIZE

As many local residents will be aware, BBC2's The Culture Show has twice made films in Comrie in recent years, recruiting local people to read books that have made it to that year's Booker Prize shortlist. And now they're back again! Where previously the pieces they've filmed have been 10 minute segments in a longer programme, this year there will be an entire 30 minute programme devoted to the Booker Prize and the opinions of the people of Comrie.

Consequently they are again looking for local people who would be willing to commit to reading at least two books from the Booker Prize shortlist and talk on camera about what they thought of them. They will be filming and providing free copies of the books to participants on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th September. You will then have until the end of September to read as much as you can!

During the course of the month, The Culture Show will be back to film a couple of times, so if you are going away on holiday during that period, please do not think that this necessarily means you wouldn't be able to participate if you'd like to. The final filming dates will be 1st and 2nd October.

Membership to our Shopping Co-operative

Membership Subscription; of £52.00 (equivalent to £1.00 per week)  is on an annual basis and payable in advance.

Ordering; Where possible orders should be placed by email addressed attn Fiona McLaren by the second Tuesday of the Month for Friday collection.  If no reply is received please contact us.

Collection; Will be after 12 noon on the SECOND Friday of each Month from reception at Comrie Croft.

Minimum Order of £25.00 is required for the order to be processed, with orders in minimum numbers to be taken, e.g where the price list specifies x 6 etc.

Maximum Order of £150.00

Prices are correct at the time of going to print but are subject to change without prior notice.

 Payment;  Unless otherwise agreed payment is strictly cash on collection.

Members own carriers should be provided for each collection.  Some dropped off at each pick up.

 Comrie Community Website - Changes

 

As we are all aware keeping our community website current has been a challenge but it is hoped that things will improve quickly.  Sandra McRitchie, a local resident has volunteered to become the Editor for the site.

A message from Sandra:

'I am now in the process of contacting local groups to inform everyone of this exciting news. I am actively looking for updates in order to make our site current, to advertise our vibrant community and it's programme of events.   Please forward me your updates and I will endevour to update the site as quickly as I can'.
