Just to let you know that the Flood Protection Scheme for Comrie report was passed unanimously by the Council’s Environment, Enterprise, and Infrastructure Committee this morning.
However, I also thought that the presentation the Committee members received from Peter Dickson, the Council’s Senior Engineer might be of interest. It does contain some new information. Moreover, the maps are clearer than in the actual report.
Although the project will be funded 80% by the Scottish Government, the remainder by the Council, there is quite a way to go yet before actual work can begin. There will be ongoing consultation with residents and property owners. That is set out in point 3.4 of the Report. In answer to a question I put it could yet be two to three years before the project gets underway fully. Much may depend on what type of legal objections might arise.
With best wishes, Cllr Stewart Donaldson
