‘My grandfather was born and bred in Comrie and although he moved to Fife in the 60s my whole family have a strong connection with the village.
I was married and my sons both baptised in the church in the village. We always have a holiday in Comrie during the fortnight. Sadly my grandfather passed away last week.
He is however immortalised in the photograph below which is displayed at Cultybraggan and I believe was the last living person in the picture.
His name is Bill Ritchie Jnr. His father also in the picture was the gardener and chauffer at Comrie House for a number of years. Although he lived in Fife for the remainder of his life he was very much a son of Comrie. He will be sadly missed’.
