As many of you will know the Community Council have (after requests from local residents) been working to ascertain ownership of the Melville Monument in order to help facilitate in it's restoration coinciding with it's 200th Anniversary shortly.

After much investigation Community Councillor Judith McDowall has, we hope, found out who is responsible for the upkeep of the Monument and will pass this information to concerned residents in the village.
Other Community Councillors led by Chairman Andrew Finlayson conducted an inspection of the Monument and have compiled a report as to it's condition. If it is of interest to you please request a copy from the editor; editors@comrie.org.uk
