The Trust volunteers have been working flat out over the last year or so to progress the complex planning, infrastructure and funding issues that require to be resolved before there can be any uses at the camp. This work is continuing, and if successful, the camp will be open to First Phase uses in April 2009. There will be 9 Nissen huts available to rent in the First Phase, all located at the rear of the camp opposite the bunker. 6 of the 9 have a square footage of approximately 1,795, it being possible to partition the remaining 3 huts, with a square footage each of approximately 897 (half a hut). The Trust has obtained planning permission for the 9 huts per Use Class 4,5 & 6 (business/general industrial/storage and distribution). The Trust is proposing an annual rental of £1.75 per square foot for an entire hut, and £2.25 per square foot for a sub-divided unit, plus a minimal service charge and possibly VAT.
