Food Growing Strategy – Survey Invitation
Perth and Kinross Council is inviting groups and individuals interested in food growing to respond to a short survey which will inform the emerging Food Growing Strategy.
The aim of the Food Growing Strategy is to ensure that those who wish to grow their own food have the opportunity to do so. As part of the process, interested parties can identify potentially suitable land for allotments and other growing areas such as community orchards, community gardens, vegetable patches, raised beds, planters and edible hedges. Another key strand of the strategy is increasing food growing provision in areas experiencing socio-economic disadvantage and supporting communities to develop the skills to grow their own and make healthy lifestyle choices.
To help develop this strategy, the Council is running a consultation from 1st October until 25th October 2019 which can be accessed through the Consultation Hub. We hope to hear from a range of organisations such as schools, allotment associations, volunteer groups, community councils as well as landowners and individuals.
Please distribute this to others who may have an interest in shaping the strategy. All views are welcome!
