Police Scotland is urging van owners to be aware of the security of their vehicles following a series of thefts from vans in Perthshire over the past week.

Ford Transit vans in Blairgowrie, Crieff, Comrie and Muthill have all been targetted and had items stolen from within. The persons responsible have been using a device which overcomes the locking mechanism of the van, enabling them to gain access without damaging the van.

As a result of this, we would ask anyone with a Ford Transit (or any other make of van) to wherever possible remove tools and valuables from their vans at night, or to keep the vehicle in a locked garage.

If anyone has information about these thefts which could assist with our enquiries, please call 101 or you can speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
Our reference is CR/29280/17.
