Drum roll please….we’ve been waiting for the right moment to make this announcement….
We proudly present our new bespoke and locally crafted Strathearn Squirrel medals!!
Our previous metal squirrel medals were great, but we wanted something even more special, sustainable and locally made. We commissioned fantastic local pottery artists MoKa (based at Cultybraggan Camp) to design and create a stoneware squirrel medal and with support from our friends at House of Tartan in Crieff, have teamed this up with a very smart Strathearn tartan ribbon (yes – the very same that Kate Middleton has sported at various royal events)!
We think they look fabulous and we hope you do too. The best thing is that they are all unique and are in keeping with our ethos of supporting local businesses and products. We can’t wait for you to see them on race day, just a week away!
These collector’s items are considerably more expensive to produce than our previous medals, but we have been helped by discounted costs from both our suppliers. Please call in and support them when you are in Strathearn (or via online orders), a great local businesses which deserves our custom
This from Moka Pottery:
We are beyond excited to finally share our work on the completely unique Strathearn Marathon medals we have been working on for the last wee while. If you want one of these, you’re too late for this year but you might want to get on the waiting list for next year’s event. Oh, and there’s a small matter of having to run 26.2 miles to qualify for one, but I’m sure that’s totally worth it!!
We will be on the finish line to cheer all the runners in. Why not come down to Cultybraggan Camp on Sunday 9th June to join us and marvel at this feat of human accomplishment (I’m talking about the runners, not the makers of the medals, but feel free to flatter us too )
