Scotland-Canada FlagComrie has been twinned with Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada for over 20yrs now and we have enjoyed numerous visits and exchange between the communities. This year Comrie Community Council would like to invite candidates to apply for what is, in our opinion, a marvellous opportunity to participate in a Student Exchange trip.

The idea is for four secondary school students from Comrie aged between 14 to 16 yrs of age to travel to Carleton Place during the October school holidays, accompanied by on adult chaperon to enjoy the hospitality and mind enlarging experiences afforded by the lovely folks of Carleton Place. This will bring a unique experience and successful candidates will only need to fund part of their air fare and take some spending money.  Accommodation and hospitality is generally provided by folk in Carleton Place.  Comrie Community Council will be fund raising to assist with air fares.

Comrie will also look forward to a reciprocal visit from four students form Canada, scheduled for the end of June 2014.  It is hoped that the Comrie candidates will, with the help of their own families, play host to them during their visit here.

We are keen to identify any student who might be keen on this once in a lifetime opportunity and ask that any interested parties contact Councillors Davie Robertson (07977 014551) or Andrew Finlayson (01764 679677) in the first instance.  As places are limited students are asked to get in touch ASAP.
