This message from Pauline Toole, Comrie Community Councillor:
Comrie and St Fillans Community Councillors, business representatives and elected representatives had a constructive meeting with representatives of RBS concerning the future of banking services in Comrie.
The first positive result is that the village WILL retain a 24-hour ATM cashpoint. This will be huge relief to many individuals and businesses alike; however, the Bank’s representatives were left under no illusion about the strength of feeling in Strathearn about the importance of keeping the Branch itself open, and about their failure to engage with the community thus far.
Going forward, the Bank has agreed that a representative will attend Community Council Meetings during the review period to keep us informed about the progress of the Independent Review that has been promised.
Many thanks to everyone who gave us comments and questions. Individual comments have been passed directly to the Bank.
