Since childhood I've been an enthusiast of the natural world and my paintings are an expression of this. I aim to create stimulating visual images that originate from my day-to-day experiences and knowledge of the countryside around me. My methods involve close attention to composition, animal behaviour, habitat detail and lighting, aiming to create an accurate and yet artistic rendition of subjects. Above all else I favour compositional ideas where the effects of lighting and the drama of weather conditions play a key role, striving to capture those wildlife encounters made all the more “magical” by the elements.
