DESCRIPTION:Chris’s Gigs is thrilled to be able to welcome Mike Vass\, one of Scotland’s foremost musicians to Comrie on 23rd February. Mike is bringing his remarkable new song cycle ‘Save His Calm’ on tour for the first time in February 2019 and we have secured a major coup in being included on the tour. \nMike wrote much of this music when he was living and travelling on a sailing boat and has drawn on many influences for inspiration. He describes the music as a bit ‘indy\, folky\, jazzy’ – but whatever the genre\, if it’s coming from Mike Vass\, it will be beautifully crafted and performed because he is frankly\, a genius. \nMike is a previous nominee in the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) award and winner in the Scots Trad music awards composer of the year category. He is a creative force of nature on the Scottish music scene and is much in demand as a producer and collaborator.
