I would like to take this opportunity to provide an update on the Comrie Flood Protection Scheme.
We have been issued the attached report from an independent reporter who recently held a local authority hearing for the Comrie Flood Protection Scheme.
Within the report, the reporter notes that they are satisfied that all the required procedures and processes under the relevant legislation have been met with regards to the Scheme. The reporter also makes the recommendation that the Scheme should be confirmed without modifications. We have prepared a report for the Environment and Infrastructure Committee meeting of 18 August 2021, seeking a final decision to confirm the Scheme on this basis.
We plan to update residents with the good news via a community newsletter following the Committee meeting of 18 August 2021. Legal notices to relevant landowners, as required by the legislation, will also be issued at this time. We will then look to update the Scheme webpage atwww.pkc.gov.uk/comriefloodscheme shortly thereafter.
