Hello Tea Growers of Comrie and Crieff,

Hope that you and your plants are doing well?

I’m wondering about making a small amount of “community tea” this year from leaf picked from the plants at the factory PLUS any leaf you may have.

I don’t have much availability so freshly picked leaf will need to be dropped off at the Tea factory on MONDAY 13 June between 4.30-6pm.

I will process the tea the next day and there will be a tasting on SATURDAY 18th in the factory at 10am.

Cost (to cover electricity/use of factory/tasting) will be £15 per person.

Please let me know if you are interested in this. I will need a minimum of 5-6 folk who are interested to make this a goer.

Obviously, very little tea will be made (it takes 5g of leaf to make 1g of tea – about 10×2 leaves and a bud = 5g of leaf!) but hopefully there will be enough for everyone involved to take a tiny bag home.

First things first. Please let me know in the next couple of days if your plants are producing leaf and if you want to take part. Don’t reply if you don’t! See picture below of what you will need to pick – essentially 2 leaves and a bud.

I will let you know by Thursday whether or not this will go ahead/if enough interest.

Best wishes
Beverly
