HERMES DELIVERIES/COLLECTIONS UPDATE

Following the announcement of a lockdown across the country, I have had to make a decision whether I continue to deliver during these challenging and unsettling times. I am very mindful of the service I provide, more than ever now that it will be very difficult to shop on the high street and people instead need to obtain items online.

However, I now need to make a choice between looking after myself and my family and keeping ourselves as safe and healthy as long as possible, or potentially putting myself and my customers at risk. I am nearly out of hand gel and wipes and cannot wash my hands regularly throughout the day any longer.

So far, I have not received any communication if the Hermes courier network is going to remain open or not since the announcement of lockdown last night. I will keep you all posted of any news I get regarding this. In the meantime I have advertised my round for cover in the event it remains open. Any courier covering my round in Comrie & St Fillans will be fully supported by myself to ensure they are able to find addresses, safe places etc and continue to provide a good service.

I will return any parcels I collected yesterday to the Perth depot today, but will not be delivering or collecting any parcels from today onwards. If the network remains open for the duration of the lockdown, I will let you know once cover is in place and when deliveries will resume.

My sincerest apologies for the short notice, but things are changing on a daily, if not hourly, basis. It’s been a very hard decision to make but I ultimately have to ensure that my family and myself are as safe as possible, as well as all my lovely customers who I’m missing very much already.

I am hopeful that, once normality returns, I will be able to resume the delivery service myself and again, I will keep you all informed of any changes as they happen regarding this.

Keep safe and healthy everyone, and see you all again once things get back to normal.
