Saturday 14th March 10am- 3pm
A day looking at the basics of how to grow food from your back garden all year round.
We’ve learnt a lot since setting up Tomnah’a (and our previous gardens) and would like to share it with you, particularly looking at easy growing techniques that feed and improve your soil, timings for sowing crops all year round and making the most from a small space and limited time.
We will learn by problem solving, biology, looking at living examples and hopefully some practical activities too.
Topics include:
How we can grow crops with minimal work and damage to the soil
Starting and managing a new growing area
Crop planning to harvest all year round
Compost making
Pest and disease management
Harvesting and storing crops
Perennials and biodiversity
If you are interested in attending please email info@tomnaha.com and tell us what scale you are growing/ planning to grow on and what in particular you would like to get from the day.
We will then send you an invoice to book, the price is £40 for the day. Spaces are limited to 10 but if we have a lot of interest we will do another date.
We will provide refreshments but lunch is not included, Bonnie Mountain Winter Café will be open @ Comrie Croft doing coffee and hot rolls/ soup or there will be indoor space if you want to bring your lunch.
