If your canine friend goes missing the effort to find them will be hindered as volunteers are restricted now due to the lock down.
Can I also give a ‘gentle reminder – It’s lambing season so please keep your dogs on leads around live stock – Thank you
This from Missing Pets Perth & Kinross:
‘I know accidents can happen to every pet owner but now more than ever I can’t stress enough we need to be that bit more vigilant. Take steps now to help if the worse was to happen.
With your dog make sure they are wearing an ID tag (which is already required by law) and all their microchip information is up to date. You could also look at investing in a tracker for their collar.
Please please PLEASE no matter how great their recall is, just keep them on a lead
I know cats are a bit more difficult to keep an eye on 24/7 if they go outdoors but I would recommend chipping them and making sure they are neutered and spayed before they go outside too. If you can, just maybe consider keeping them indoors for the next wee while.
Please know with this post I’m just trying to think of all pet owners. Where before we had countless volunteers and equipment to help in the searches of missing dogs and other animals, we at this moment in time can no longer assist with ground searches
