Drugs recovered following Auchterarder search warrant

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged after police conducted a drugs search warrant at an address in Auchterarder.

The operation took place in the Eagle Avenue area, on the morning of Tuesday, 13 June, 2023.

Quantities of cocaine and cannabis were recovered, with an estimated total street value of over £3000.

The man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and is expected to appear at court at a later date.

Sergeant Rob Southern, from Auchterarder Police Station, said: “We will continue to use every tactic at our disposal to remove illegal drugs from our streets and we are thankful for the public’s support.

Appeal following serious crash, A9 Dunkeld

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the A9 near Dunkeld.

It happened around 6:20pm on Monday, 12 June, 2023, near the A822 and involved a silver Toyota Rav 4 and Honda Crossover motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 59-year-old man, and pillion passenger, a 54-year-old woman, were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the car were not injured.

The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and fully reopened around 8.10pm.

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this crash.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage, to come forward.”

UPDATES

A 32 year old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for theft of a handbag from The Capital Asset, Tay Street, Perth on Wednesday 7th June. The bag and contents were recovered.

A 55 year old man was arrested for possession of a knife in Leslie Court, Perth on Saturday 10th June.

A 41 year old man was arrested for breaking in to Morrisons, St Catherines Retail Park, Perth on Sunday 11th June.

A 32 year old man was arrested for drink driving in Maxton Road, Crieff on Saturday 10th June.

During the last week 5 drivers have been found to be without insurance, 2 had no licence and 1 had no MOT

RECENT INCIDENTS

Between 12:30pm, Wednesday 7th and 12pm, Thursday 8th June, a red and black Carrera Pedal Cycle was stolen from Friar Street, Perth. (CR/107836/23)

About 11:10pm, Wednesday 7th June, a window was smashed at a property in Tweedsmuir Road, Perth. (CR/105390/23)

Between 6:30pm and 10pm, Sunday 11th June, an attempt was made to break in to a property in Catmoor Avenue, Scone. (CR/107993/23)

Between 12pm, Tuesday 6th and 6pm, Wednesday 7th June, a large stone planter was stolen from the garden of a property in Burnhead Road, Blairgowrie. (CR/107894/23)

About 3:30pm, Wednesday 7th, two males were seen to break windows at a property in Green Road, Kinross by throwing stones at them. They also damaged a Fiat Ducato Campervan which was parked nearby. They were seen to leave the area in a black Ford Focus. Suspect 1 is described as a white male, aged 35-40 years old, average build, about 5’9” wearing a purple hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms. Suspect 2 is described as a white male, muscular build, over 6’, wearing a camouflage jacket and blue jeans. (CR/105269/23)
