Housebreaking Advice
Unfortunately we have had a number of reports of theft by housebreaking in the Tayside area over the last few weeks. Although Housebreaking can occur at any time of the year, dark houses can give the appearance of being empty due to lack of lights etc. The risk in all circumstances can be greatly reduced with the use of Crime Prevention measures
A few prevention measures would be inside/outside lighting, alarm systems, CCTV and the securing of doors and windows. Also careful consideration should be given to what you post on social media sites, especially if you are going on holiday or going out for the evening.
Please report any unusual activity to Police, either by phone (101) in person or at a police office i.e. people offering work in the area, cards being posted through the door offering to carry out work. Criminals can use this as a method of identifying potential targets and by reporting this information to the police, it may help us identify groups or individuals who may be involved.
Be aware that thieves often take tools from a garage or she, to help them break into premises, so ensure your property/tools are always locked away!

UPDATES
A 31 year old man was charged and remanded for committing 27 shop lifting offences and has subsequently been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for another 6 shop lifting offences all within the Perth area.
A 36 year old man was arrested and charged for possession of an offensive weapon on Mill Street, Perth on Saturday 27th January.
A 30 year old man was arrested and has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to possession of Class B drug and Drug driving on M90, Perth on Sunday 28th January.
During the last week 2 drivers have been found without insurance and 1 driver without a current licence.
RECENT INCIDENTS
Between 1 am and 2am, Thursday 25th January, There was an attempted theft of a vehicle and a theft of a black Range Rover from William Dickson Drive, Blairgowrie. (CR/23136/24) (CR/29132/24)
On Thursday 25th January, two motor vehicles were broken into and items stolen from David Farquharson Road, Blairgowrie. (CR/29767/24) (CR/29938/24)
Between 5pm and 7.45pm, Friday 26th January, a House breaking occurred on Ferntower Road, Crieff. (CR/31496/24)
Between 11pm, Friday 26th and 8am, Saturday 27th January, a Silver BMW was stolen during a break in to a property on Main Street, Guildtown. (CR/32123/14)
Between 11.30pm Saturday 27th and 7am Sunday 28th January, a house breaking occurred on Frances Gordon Road, Perth. (CR/33514/24)
Between 6.30pm Sunday 28th and 7.30am, Monday 29th January, Four motor vehicles were broken into and items stolen from Flower of Monorgan Close, Inchture. (CR/35397/24)
