Our buildings aim to explore and express sympathetic design and materials for the rural Scottish landscape whilst responding to the evolving needs of modern living. Working in areas of outstanding natural beauty amongst mountains, lochs and rivers has inspired designs that respond organically to their natural setting, optimising views, topography, orientation and materials to create buildings that truly fit into their rural landscape.
Expertise in one-off private housing within the Practice has developed through the many domestic projects undertaken. Great emphasis is placed on trying to find the ideal solution for a client’s needs whilst being aware of financial considerations and opportunities.
Over the last thirty years, the Practice has been involved in some 3,600 projects and has developed expertise in a broad range of building projects including hotels, self-catering and shared ownership holiday accommodation, swimming pools, restaurants and bars, offices, clubhouses and housing association work alongside a variety of one-off projects such as the Nelson Stand for Perth Race Course. We have also worked with a number of country estates throughout Scotland on a variety of building types that assist in enhancing values, organisation and long-term efficiencies.
