The following letter was received from Persimmon Homes North Scotland, located at Broxden Business Park, Perth
I am writing to ask for your help to encourage local charities and groups across the Perth and Kinross local authority area to apply to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions charity initiative.
The initiative, launched in 2015, has donated more than £3.7 million to support causes across the UK through our 31 regional businesses. Each month the regional teams donate up to £1,000 to two clubs, groups or individuals in the community.
Reaching the groups and charities is key and our North Scotland regional office, headquartered in Perth, is seeking your assistance in promoting the opportunity to access funding and to share the message amongst your constituents and community stakeholders across the local authority area. Local groups and charities that have already benefited from funding are Perth Autism Support and CHAS, and I would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with any local charities or causes that might want to apply for funding.
The application process is very simple and only requires applicants to state the amount of funding they are seeking, up to £1,000, the area in which they operate and what they would hope to do with the funds if successful. The application can be completed online at: https://www.persimmonhomes.com/community-champions/
In addition to our community funding I would also like to take the opportunity to highlight Persimmon Homes’ commitment to investment and employment in the region. Our North Scotland regional office is located in Perth at Broxden Business Park and directly employs 120 people with a high proportion of staff drawn from the local area. This is in addition to the broader support that our investment in the area brings through our local supply chain.
Our apprenticeship programme employs bricklaying and roof tiling apprentices, including a number who are complementing their onsite development in the local area.
We remain committed to investing, working and supporting community groups in Perth & Kinross and playing our part in the exciting future of the region.
