The Church of Scotland
Comrie Parish Church
Remembrance Sunday 8th November 2020
As a continued mark of respect to the fallen of many campaigns, Remembrance will take place on Sunday 8th of November.
Due to the current restrictions under which we currently live no act of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial, although time separated laying of wreaths will be allowed.
A service of Remembrance will begin at 10.15am in Comrie Parish Church.
The two minute silence will be observed at 11am as part of the service, at the end of which, Pipe Major Willie Nicol will play the lament.
It is hoped members of the Comrie Pipe Band and any other pipers within the village will stand outside their homes and join in so the skirl of the pipes will be heard throughout our community on such an important occasion.
The Church service will conclude shortly thereafter.
A number of points must be observed. Firstly attendance at the church service is by booking only.
To book a a place please call Ruth Murray on 65 5731. A limited number of spaces are available. Secondly, face masks must be worn in the church and please at all times observe social distancing.
For information on taking part in piping please contact Willie Nicol
07592 339802.
As there will be no service at the War Memorial it is hoped that many will stand outside their homes and pay their respects during the two minute silence which is normally observed.
