A wonderful accolade for the team at Wild Hearth Bakery ,,,,,

This was the scene on Friday evening when they found out that they had won Best Bakery in Scotland in the annual Slow Food Awards 😊.

Don’t worry, the single malt whisky went into the sourdough Christmas stollen. We toasted with Prosecco. Thanks to all our customers who voted for us. I have no idea who you are except for a couple who fessed up. We didn’t even tell anyone about it let alone ask for votes. I’m really looking forward to slow collaborations in the year ahead. This is not the stuff that gets lots of likes or followers on social media. It’s not about food porn images, it’s things like growing, milling and baking with children from the local school, engaging local farmers to start growing heritage grains, and building our community bread co-ops.
