As you may be aware the stand of trees behind the Fire Station next to the river have been felled recently as the area was becoming over grown and the trees were too densely planted resulting in them being unhealthy and at increased risk of falling. As part of the approval to have the trees felled the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are required to re-plant trees at a ratio of 3 to 1. Since the area was already over planted the Scottish Forestry have agreed that replacement trees can be planted elsewhere, ideally within the Comrie area.
There are approximately 150 trees to re-plant overall. Some of these will go in the area behind the Fire Station but at a lower density than previously planted. This means there could be up to 120 to 130 trees available for other locations with Comrie.
Is there anywhere in and around Comrie that you think that some of these trees could be planted?
If so, send the Community Council and email, identifying any potential locations at communitycouncil@comrie.org.uk
