The Fire Station has requested the following be shared::
“Comrie Fire Station is currently having its Drill Yard resurfaced, and there will be increased construction traffic in and around the Fire Station and Strowan Road until the middle of next week. Contractors have been requested to be mindful of local residents and ensure disruption is kept to minimum.
For all who use the public footpath that runs along the River Earn behind the Station, and particularly dog walkers, please be aware that new tar is due to be laid on Friday 20th September, this includes the section of the Drill Yard that the footpath runs over. The tar is very hot when first laid and takes a number of hours to cool down and set.
The contractors will have controls in place during the day to alert people and direct them round the hot tar, however once they leave for the day could we ask that everyone avoids the Drill Yard completely between Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime – until the tar is set it will be sticky and warm, which dogs may not appreciate, and walking on the new tar before it is fully set may damage it.
Comrie Fire Station would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, but this is essential work being done to ensure our Community Fire Station is well maintained and fit for purpose.
Watch Commander Matt McLay, Comrie Fire Station”
