Good afternoon,
Yesterday, the Community Council received the following update from Craig Cunningham at Oxygen Conservation:
Environmental baseline surveys have continued through the spring and summer months of 2024 including a 2nd full year of ornithological surveys focusing on flight activity and breeding bird and raptor walkovers. The 2 years of ornithological data will now be assessed alongside other environmental baseline datasets developed through 2024 such as peat depth and condition assessments, National Vegetation Classification and Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystem surveys to determine the constraint that may exist within the development site for the positioning of wind farm infrastructure.
In addition, the landscape and visual impact assessments continue to be developed via field survey visits including the production of baseline landscape photography that will enable the production of photo montage visualisations for the next public exhibition which has been provisionally scheduled for late November 2024. At this exhibition we expect to be in a position to show more material to the public and outline the design evolution of the development since the initial exhibitions in November 2023.
I would be more than happy to attend the October or November Community Council meeting to provide an in person update if this is of interest. I would also reiterate our openness to discussing the community benefit fund opportunities with the Community Council and Comrie Development Trust as we look to determine the structure of that fund.
